Maisy Update

Update from May 20, 2009

Maisey the horse from the cruelty/neglect case in November involving 110 animals has been adopted, as have most of her friends! GMADers raised $1,375 to support the animals from this case! Heartfelt thanks to all of our members who helped raise $ for this very worthy cause. KUDOS to Spring Hill Horse Rescue for taking in these animals in need.

We've included some before and after pictures of Maisy.

Maisy's Story

As you may know, Maisy the horse was rescued by Spring Hill Horse Rescue in N. Clarendon, VT as the result of a cruelty/neglect case on November 14th. Green Mountain Animal Defenders is sponsoring Maisy's recovery by paying her veterinary expenses and collecting donations for her food.

We are very pleased to report that Maisy is doing much better and is recuperating at Spring Hill.

Now Maisy's "friends" have also been rescued! With the guidance of Rutland County Sheriffs Department, The VT Agency of Agriculture and a compassionate and helpful State's Attorney, Spring Hill Horse Rescue was also able to assist in the rescue of over 110 neglected animals from another property owned by the same couple who had Maisy.

The Rutland County Humane Society took in the small animals, and Spring Hill has the larger animals in their care.
