The New England Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS) is a founding member of the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) which was launched in 1996 and established the Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals. This is an internationally recognized animal testing standard providing the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development - by the company, its laboratories or its suppliers.

By adopting the Standard, companies pledge not to conduct or commission animal tests on finished products, nor use any ingredient formulation that is tested on animals. While many ingredients, formulations and finished products have been tested on animals in the past, the Standard is designed to prevent future animal testing.
